Protecting your doll from water damage—be it from high humidity, a plumbing leak, or even a flood—requires a truly waterproof storage solution. These containers are designed to create an impenetrable barrier against external moisture.

The most reliable and widely available option is a gasket-sealed, weatherproof trunk. These rigid plastic containers feature a rubber or foam gasket in the lid that creates an airtight and watertight seal when latched. They are designed for outdoor use on decks or in garages, making them more than capable of handling indoor moisture threats. They provide excellent physical and environmental protection.

Another fantastic option is a large dry bag, the kind used in boating and kayaking. These are made of thick, waterproof vinyl and feature a roll-top closure. By rolling the top down several times and clipping it shut, you create a fully waterproof and airtight seal. The bag’s flexibility is an advantage, allowing it to be stored in more irregularly shaped spaces than a rigid trunk.

Crucial Note: Waterproofing works both ways. You must ensure your doll is perfectly dry before sealing it in the container and always include desiccant packs to absorb any internal air moisture. Without this step, a waterproof container becomes a humidity trap.
